Hakuba is a scenic and easy 2.5 hour journey from Tokyo on the Nagano Shinkansen bullet train and express bus. However, we can make it even easier for you and book a private or shared transfer straight from the airport  or Tokyo to The Ridge. Please view options and pricing here.

If you are stopping over somewhere before or after your stay at The Ridge, we recommend utilising the Black Cat courier service to send your ski gear direct from the airport. Locate the Black Cat counter at the airport to arrange this quick, reliable and cheap service. Turnaround time is 48 hours.

We are also more than happy to assist you book any of the wonderful tours available or plan day trips to some of the neighbouring ski resorts, via regular shuttles that leave from across the road at the Wadano Visitor Centre. Please book through our front desk or email us for further details.

All Mountain lift tickets can be used at 8 of the Resorts in the Hakuba Valley and are available from 2-7 days, they include 1-2 rest days, ie. a 5 day ticket is valid over 7 days. Customers are issued with a series of vouchers, which are presented at the lift ticket office of the resort you wish to ski at that day. You can only ski one mountain per day. The tickets are available from the following participating mountains: Happo One | Hakuba 47 | Hakuba Goryu | Hakuba Iwatake | Hakuba Highland | Hakuba Minekata | Tsugaike Kogan | Sun Alpina Sanosaka.  View prices.

Also available is the Happo One mountain only lift pass, which is cheaper than the All Mountain lift pass. There is a ticket office at the chair lift closest to our hotel, however we are happy to pre-purchase for you. Coupons need to be exchanged for discs each day and a Y1,000 deposit is required, which is refunded via a vending machine upon return of your disc.  View prices.

Most ski resorts in Hakuba offer ski and snowboard lessons, but not always with English speaking instructors. For Certified and Qualified English Speaking Instructors, catering for all grades of skiiers and snowboarders, we suggest taking a look at the following web sites:
